In early September, Brittany, Phoebe and myself set off to hike The Rockwall—a 55km, 2700m elevation gain through-hike over 6 days, walking through stunning mountain passes, larch forests, glaciers and alpine lakes. After many a switchback, the trail led us to our campground. Floe Lake may just be one of my most favourite campgrounds to date. The turquoise lake glittered in the afternoon sun, a tantalising invitation to jump into its icy waters after a hot day of hiking. One of the many great community initiatives supported by Arc’teryx Alberta as part of Go Climb Week, this clinic allowed us to learn how to safely set up rigs to produce climbing photography.
